We compiled a list of 14 unique and affordable date night ideas you and your partner will enjoy.
1. Host A Movie Night
You’re probably thinking basic right. But hear us out. You can absolutely make this movie night different than all of the others. Scatter flower petals and battery-operated tea lights around your place.
Make dinner for your partner or make dinner together. It’s a great time to bond. If you’re not the best cook, consider purchasing a meal service. The meals are prepacked and practically mistake proof.
2. Try Hand Casting
Celebrate your relationship with a keepsake hand statue. Cast a mold of you holding your partners hand. You can leave the finished product in its original state or paint it to match your home decor. You can actually do this in the comfort of your own home. At home hand molding kits are relatively inexpensive.
3. Play A Game
Think you know your significant other? Play a game to test your knowledge. This is a fun way to find out new things about your partner that you wouldn’t think to bring up during ordinary conversations. 4. Go To A Paint & Sip Class
Take your date to a paint and sip class. Better yet, book a private class. You could also host your own budget friendly paint and sip session. All you need is wine, brushes, canvases, and an array of paint colors.
5. Couples Spa Day
Who doesn’t love a good pampering session? The only thing better than relaxing in a spa, is relaxing in a spa with your significant other. Look for spa in your area that offers package deals and discounts for couples.
6. Take A Private Cooking Class
Are you in a food rut? Do you constantly find yourself making the same dishes for dinner? If so, consider taking a private cooking class. You’ll learn how to prepare a new dish, you’ll learn about new ingredients, and the best part, you’ll get to eat what you’ve cooked.
7. Go To A Comedy Show
You don’t have to see most famous comedian to have a good time. Support up and coming comedians by going to your local comedy club. Make sure to book a few weeks in advance. Tickets at smaller venues may quickly sell out.

10. Go Skating
Try your hands at ice skating. If you don’t like the idea of ice skating, then consider roller skating. You probably haven’t roller skated since you were a kid. Or, you may have never tried roller skating if you grew up during the inline skate’s craze.
Make sure to purchase or rent knee and elbow pads. Skating is most definitely fun, but you may also take a tumble or two if you’re not careful.
11. Go Bowling
Bowling alleys tend to have a similar vibe as roller skating rinks. The lights are flashing, and pop music is playing. While it’s hardly the most romantic setting, bowling is a great bonding experience. You can even turn the game into a friendly competition.
12. Take A Boat Ride
Enjoy a day at the sea or bay, whichever option is most accessible. There’s nothing more romantic than spending the night on a boat watching the sunset. Look for companies that offer 1–3-hour boat rides in your area. If you have a few days off, consider a River Cruise.
13. Go To A Dinner Theatre
If you can’t decide between going to dinner and watching a play, why not do both at the same time? Dinner theatres are an incredibly unique experience you won’t get anywhere else.
